II. Background | |
KIF5B, kinesin family member 5B, is a microtubule motor protein involved in cargo transportation (PMID: 12743033), including lysosome and mitochondria transportation (PMID: 30058692). KIF5B fusions with RET (PMID: 22327624, PMID: 32094155), MET (PMID: 29284707), and ALK (PMID: 21656749, PMID: 21757253) have been frequently identified in lung cancer (PMID: 22327623), and Kif5b expression has been associated with poor prognosis in oral squamous cell carcinoma (PMID: 30058692). |
